Tim Davies

Tim Davies focuses on identity, displacement and haunted landscapes. Returned Parquet for instance, is a mahogany parquet floor found in a Swansea reclamation yard, which Davies shipped to Belize and laid in the rainforest: a vestige of colonial history reinstated and re-viewed. In his European Drawings series, images of war memorials are hatched over or pierced and become eerily redolent in a manner that is both elegiac and political.
